This Saturday, September 26th, Take Me Outdoors is back in Houston! For over seven years, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has called on community ambassadors to provide free hands-on activities, interactive booths, and a myriad of other opportunities to engage audiences who do not often get exposure to the great outdoors. Compared to typical activities in Houston’s big backyard, this family-oriented festival of the outdoors is a rewarding alternative. “By introducing Texans, especially urban adults and kids, to outdoor recreation, our woods and waters and natural places become more relevant and important to them,” said Heidi Rao, with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in Houston. As event sponsors, we at Avian Kingdom are playing our part by promoting environmental stewardship through our Feathered Tales and donating all proceeds to Last Chance Forever: The Bird of Prey Conservancy.
